product description
The UH-60L Black Hawk is an American medium lift utility military helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft. First submitted in 1972, the Black Hawk won the competition and was selected to enter service with the U.S. Army.
Named after the Native American war leader Black Hawk, the UH-60 replaced the Bell UH-1 Iroquois as the Army’s tactical transport helicopter, with later variants of the helicopter being fielded for electronic warfare and special operations. More modified versions were also developed for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
In addition to serving with the U.S. Army, UH-60 family of helicopters were also exported to several nations and have served in combat during conflicts in Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Somalia, Ukraine, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and other areas in the Middle East.
