The Cougar H is a mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) infantry mobility vehicle. Designed with special features and materials, the 4×4 Cougar can protect both the crew and engine compartment against a wide range of attacks. Seeing service in Afghanistan, Iraqi War, and many other modern conflicts the Cougar was based on a monocoque type, V-shaped hull extending its lower length. The hull serves to direct the blast away from under the vehicle, negating the disadvantage of internal injuries or even roll outs like the older deployed vehicles.
Additional protection was due to the double layered bullet proof glass. The glass provided ample visibility and protection against firearms with gun ports capable of safely directing defense fire towards the spotted battlefield threat.
Manned by a crew of 3, the 4×4 Cougar is capable of safely transporting 4 fully armed soldiers with its self defense capabilities with a roof mounted turret with either a 7.62 mm or a 12.7 mm heavy general purpose machine gun (GPMG).
