The T-80U Russian main battle tank, is a third generation MBT designed and manufactured in the Soviet Union. Entering service in 1976, it was the first MBT in the world to feature a powerful multi-fuel turbine engine as its main propulsion engine. The T-80U was last produced in a factory in Russia, while the T-80UD and the further-developed T-84 resumed production in Ukraine. The T-80 and its variants are in service in various armed forces across the globe.
