The Sd.Kfz.234/1 Schwerer Panzerspähwagen, German for armoured reconnaissance vehicle, was the first variant of the 8×8 armoured car designed and built in Germany during World War II. Featuring  an open-topped turret, Sd.Kfz. 234/1 Schwerer Panzerspähwagen was primarily deployed as a reconnaissance vehicle on close combat lines.
