Russian T-80UK Main Battle Tank

The T-80UK is the commander version of the regular Russian T-80 main battle tank. The T-80 was designed and manufactured in the former Soviet Union and manufactured in Russia. Based on its earlier T-64 sibling, the T-80 incorporated newer features from the less earlier T-72 tank with a newly installed gas turbine engine.

Later versions of the initial T-80s were later improved and upgraded with extra armour protection, as well as newer systems like the T-80UK. The T-80UK benefitted from a number of additional features in addition to its more advanced fire control system. The UK is equipped with the Shtora-1 active protection system, an upgraded thermal imaging night sight, new atmospheric parameter sensors, and radio stations for increased communication range, as well as an auxiliary benzene generator to power communications when the tank is stationary.

Manned by a crew of 4, the T-80UK is armed with an auto loading, smoothbore 125 mm gun, capable of firing conventional rounds as well as guided anti tank missiles (ATGM). A coaxially mounted 7.62 mm PKT machine gun as well as a turret mounted 12.7 mm NSVT or PKT antiaircraft machine gun

The T-80UK was deployed to provide command and control capability for field commanders or armoured whilst enabling and establishing communication with higher command, in the recent Russo-Ukrainian War.
