product description
The Russian Mil Mi-24A, NATO codename Hind, was the first large helicopter attack helicopter. Nicknamed letayushiy tank or flying tank, the Hind double roled as a low-capacity troop and cargo transport for eight fully equipped soldiers. Produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, the Mi-24A Hind-B was introduced by the Soviet Air Force in 1972, with the straight canopy prototype. Later versions of the Hind were later exported to more than 55 countries in various conflicts.
Manned by a crew of 2, pilots and weapons system officer, the heavily armoured Hind withstood extensive direct fire, chewing bullets even when hitting the engine directly.
