The Mikoyan MiG-29C “Fulcrum” tactical fighter was an updated version of the MiG-29A due to fuel limits. In order to meet the specified voyage requirements, the designers of the Mikoyan Design Bureau developed a plan to increase the fuselage fuel tank, as a response to the newer generation of Western fighters.

The MiG-29C was also fitted with a series of new electronic countermeasures devices, with an increased weapon load capacity of 3,200 kg.

The MiG-29C can carry a variety of weapons, including R-27R semi-active radar guided missiles, R-27R, R-73, R-60 and other infrared guided missiles, built-in cannons and a variety of bombs and rockets. In addition, the MiG-29 can also carry a 1520 liter disposable fuel tank on the mid line of the belly for long-range missions and transition flights.
