The Panzer IV, Pz.Kpfw. IV, is a German medium tank deployed during the Second World War (WW2). Developed during the early 1930s, the Panzerkampwagen IV, German for armoured fighting vehicle, was the second most manufactured fully tracked fighting vehicle with more than 8,500 units of all versions across all combat theaters.
Manned by a crew of 5, the Panzer IV Ausf. F1, version F, was armed with a 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 main gun designed and deployed to fulfill the infantry support role. Maintaining the same chassis, up armoured and upgunned Panzer IVs had more potential development and firepower against adversaries and tanks like the Soviet T-34 tank, with various modified vehicles befitting the anti-air and anti-tank vehicles role.
