Description

The Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the Second World War. Seeing combat in all theaters and battlefields across the conflict, the Panzer IV remained in production throughout the war with over 8,553 vehicles of all versions built during World War II. Later versions of the Panzer IV, to counter newer threats, were improved with additional armor and bigger guns, as well as design changes to simply and speed up the manufacturing process during the end of the war as seen on the Panzer IV. Ausf.J . The Panzer Ausf.J fought during the last battles in the Ardennes, Hungary, Poland, and up to the last battles in defense of Berlin and Czechoslovakia.

Border Model‘s Panzer IV Ausf.J consists of 10 grey, 36 black plastic sprues for the tracks, a slide molded lower hull chassis, turret and basket, a metal barrel for the main gun, three PE frets, poly caps, and one decal sheet. The kit depicts the last version of the Panzer IV series, with the twin vertical exhaust pipes and mesh Schürzen. As with the previous releases by Border Models, the kit features fine details as can be seen by the bolts and hinges on the various lower and upper hull components, anti slip texture on the side fenders, and cast marks on the road wheels.

The kit features a fully workable suspension system. Two types of tracks are included, workable and link & length, allowing for a diorama setting if the modeler chooses to.

The Panzer IV Ausf.J from Border Model also includes various parts to depict various versions of this tank. Five types of return rollers are included to choose or mix from. Three types of muzzle brakes, two types of coaxial machine gun shields, and two types of idler wheels.

A wide range of accessories is included with the kit such as buckets, T-34 tracks for additional armor protection,  gas mask canisters, and jerry cans with delicate text.

The PE fret includes parts for the mesh Schürzen, bucket handles, and shovel blades.

Five marking options are included in the kit with various vehicles, 4 in camo and 1 white washed, fighting in Germany and East Prussia.
