Description

The Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the Second World War. Seeing combat in all theaters and battlefields across the conflict, the Panzer IV remained in production throughout the war with over 8,553 vehicles of all versions built during World War II. Later versions of the Panzer IV, to counter newer threats, were improved with additional armor and bigger guns, as with the Panzer IV Ausf.G in comparison to its previous versions. The Panzer IV Ausf.G benefitted from a number of improvements such as an increase in the frontal armor, a new muzzle brake, and the installation of a system to facilitate the engine startup during the freezing Russian winter.

Border Model‘s Panzer IV Ausf.G consists of 14 grey plastic sprues, a slide molded lower hull chassis, turret and basket, a metal barrel for the main gun, three PE frets, a stainless steel Zimmerit applicator poly caps, and one decal sheet. The kit depicts the Mid/Late version of the Panzer IV G series, with the single horizontal muffler/exhaust and Schürzen. As with the previous releases by Border Models, the kit features fine details as can be seen by the bolts and hinges on the various lower and upper hull components, anti slip texture on the side fenders, and cast marks on the road wheels.

The kit features two types of link & length tracks for either the Mid or Late version.  The Panzer IV Ausf.G from Border Model also includes various parts to depict various versions of this tank with two types of muzzle brakes, two types of coaxial machine gun shields.

The kit also includes 4 figures for a commander, driver, radio operator, and a Panzergrenadier hitching a ride on the rear of the tank. A wide range of accessories is included with the kit such as buckets, T-34 tracks for additional armor protection,  gas mask canisters, and jerry cans with delicate text.

The PE fret includes parts for the Schürzen, bucket handles, and shovel blades.

A stainless steel Zimmerit applicator is included in the kit, if the modeler chooses to apply the Zimmerit coating using the putty technique.

Ten marking options are included in the kit with various vehicles painted in the iconic German 3 tone camo and white washed vehicles fighting in various battlefields such as Russia, Normandy, and Italy.
