Description

The German Panther G medium tank was an improved version of the earlier Panther tank, which specifically developed to counter the Soviet T-34 tank, armed with the formidable 75 mm KwK 42 L/70 main gun. The Panther G benefitted from enhanced protection in certain key areas with the omission of the driver’s front observation port and a newly installed machine gun ball, while reducing both the weight and production time needed. During the final stage of the war, some Panther G tanks were equipped with anti air armor plates on the top of the turret and engine air intakes to protect against the growing air threat posed by the Allies.

Meng‘s German Panther Ausf. G Early/Late w/AA Armor contains 10 light Grey & 1 clear plastic sprue for the periscopes and vision ports, 2 PE frets, 2 metal cables, 1 stainless steel fret for the side skirts, poly caps, and a decal sheet. All armor plates feature a crisp steel rolled texture along with the weld cut marks on the edges, along with realistic weld lines.

All hatches on the kit can be built either open or closed, with a movable main gun which can be elevated ad depressed even after assembly. The kit can be further enhanced with a separately sold movable suspension and workable tracks set, for a varied diorama terrain setting.
