product description
The IDF Merkava Mk.4M, chariot of God, is the most equipped version of the main Merkava 1 MBT deployed to one of the first battlefields back in 1982. First announced in October 1999, earlier Merkava Mark III tanks remained in production until 2003 with the first Merkava 4 were in production.
Designed for rapid mechanical repairs along its damaged modular armour, the MK.4 was cost-effective in production and maintenance. Later versions of the MK.4 were equipped with the Trophy active protection system (APS), successfully intercepting rocket-propelled grenades in combat, along additional roof-mounted slat armour for intercepting possible loitering munitions such as explosive drones deployed in combat.
