M2A2 Bradley IFV “Iraq 2003”

The American M2A2 Bradley is an improved version of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). The Bradley was designed for forward reconnaissance as well as provide safe transport to six fully equipped soldiers, while providing firepower to both suppress and eliminate threats on the battlefield. Designed to be highly manoeuvrable and fast enough to keep up with heavy armour during an advance, the M2 Bradley is armed with a 25 mm M242 chain gun, 2 × TOW anti-tank missile launchers, and 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.

Manned by a crew of 3, the M2A2 was fitted with an improved 600 horsepower engine, a new Hydromechanical transmission, in addition to armour improvements with the ability to mount explosive reactive armour ERA modules.

Mainly deployed by US forces in various battlefields, the Bradley A2 was exported to few countries such as Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Lebanon, with over 50 units sent to Ukraine during the Ruso-Ukrainian war.
