M1078 A1P2 2.5 Ton LMTV Cargo Truck

The M1078 Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), is a unit of the series of military vehicles based upon a common chassis. Varying by payload and mission requirements, the FMTV was originally designed by and upon the Austrian Steyr 12M18 truck. Heavily modified to meet the United States Army requirements, the FMTV included a minimum or 50% of components to be met.

With various payloads carrying both 2.5 and 5 ton payloads, the FMTVs were first fielded back in January 1996.  More than 17 variants were expanded during manufacturing to meet enhanced and protection designs.

Since 2011, the FMTV has been manufactured by Oshkosh Corporation, export units were handed to many countries in the Middle East, like Lebanon and gulf countries, as well as dozens of FMTVs to Ukraine during the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
