KF51U Panther 4th Generation Main Battle Tank

The KF51U, based on the demonstrator KF51 prototype, is a German main battle tank (MBT) under development by Rheinmetall Landsysteme. Rheinmetall unveiled their latest KF51 MBT in June 2024, at the Eurosatory defence fair. Maintaining the same hull that of the predecessor Leopard 2A4 MBT, the KF51U is fitted with a lighter Concept Unmanned Turret (CUT) armed with a 130 mm autoloading smoothbore main gun, a coaxial 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, in addition to a 3-barrel 7.62 mm Main Sensor Slaved Armament (MSSA) Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) capable of detecting and tracking drones. The latest KF51 is also fitted with a turret HERO-120 launch loitering system drones.

Benefiting from 3 layers of protection: passive, reactive and active, the KF51U is also integrated with warning and detection systems. Manned by a crew of 3, the KF51 MBT shields crew members all within its lower hull.
