Description

The Sd.Kfz. 173 Jagdpanther G2, German for hunting panther, was a highly successful tank destroyer built by Germany during World War II based on the chassis of the Panther tank. It entered service in 1944 during the later stages of the war on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. The Jagdpanther G2 was equipped with the formidable 8.8 cm Pak 43 cannon, just like the King Tiger/Tiger II. Both the armor and suspension system of the Panther chassis were used during the manufacturing of the Jagdpanther. During the later stages of the war the G2 version was introduced with some modifications to decrease the required production time.

Ryefield Model 1/35th scale German Sd.Kfz. 173 Jagdpanther G2 consits of 11 tan colored plastic sprues, 1 clear plastic sprue, slide moulded upper hull, 1 PE fret, 1 metal cable, metal spring, and fully workable tracks. The kit features crisp crisp details and visible weld line details on the slide moulded upper hull. The kit can be built with either a fully workable suspension system for diorama possibilities, or a level unmovable system if the scale modeller chooses so by cutting out a small part of each suspension arm. The kit also includes a fully workable set of tracks possible with the use of track pins, providing a real sag effect just like the real tank

Just like the full interior kit, this kit also features a complete movable gun breach assembly with a slide moulded 8.8 cm Pak 43 barrel. The gunner’s main sight also traverses with the main gun. The included PE fret includes various parts for the engine grills, spare track holders, and various fine details.
