IDF Nemmera Merkava ARV

The Nemmera Merkava is an advanced armoured recovery vehicle (ARV) based on the Merkava 3 main battle tank. Developed by IMI, the Nemmera ARV is a main battle tank’s chassis  modified for towing and repairing unstuck fighting or damaged vehicles during combat deployments. The Nemmera features a ready to use lighter, powerful 35 tons of weight crane for engineers’ rapid field fitting and maintenance procedure. The ARVs equipped auxiliary power unit (APU) supports a full array of 24 and 220 volts powered tools as well as air-pressure for supporting and replacing any damaged components and parts on the field.

Replacing its older US M88 and M113 ARVs, the Nemmera also functions as a long-range range medical evacuation vehicle fitting two stretchers in its crew compartment, in addition to its commander and driver.
