The F-15E is an improved F-15B/D twin seat battle multi-role fighter/bomber developed as a successor to the F-111. The upgraded F-15E benefited from a reinforced structure along with its electronic systems, such as the fire control system to strengthen its ground attack ability. Great Wall Hobby‘s 1/48 scale F-15E consists of 30 grey plastic sprues, 1 slide moulded fuselage, and 2 PE frets. The finely reproduced kit features fine, crisp panel lines on the wings, fuselage, and control surfaces.
The slide moulded lower fuselage features crisp landing gear bay details. The one part cast wings, and upper surface feature a detailed air brake assembly. The fuselage’s sides can be displayed with both panels open revealing the electronics’ bay. All specific F-15E parts such as the the conformal fuel tanks on the sides of the body, weapons’ mounting points, and the reinforced landing gear are accurately depicted. The kit also includes 2 complete Pratt & Whitney F100 engines in the fuselage.
The kit features a complete array of weapons such as the AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod, AN/AAQ-33 sniper sighting pod, AIM-9L/M Sidewinder, AIM-120C AMRAAM, pylon mounted GBU-39 guided bombs, and two external 610 gallon fuel tanks.
