Description

The F-15 Eagle was the US Air Force’s first purpose-built dog fighter, interceptor since the F-86 Sabre. Till today the F-15 B/D remains in service with the US Air Force, Israel, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. The F-15 Eagle can be armed with up to eight missiles, AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-9 Sidewinders. In later years, the F-15 was modified with new launch rails and avionics to support a combination of AIM-9 Sidewinders and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles in addition to the Sparrow bringing the total payload to 8 missiles.

Great Wall Hobby‘s 1/48 scale F-15 B/D consists of 24 grey plastic sprues, clear parts for the canopy, 1 slide molded fuselage, and 1 PE fret. The finely reproduced kit features fine, crisp panel lines on the wings, fuselage, and control surfaces. The kit can be build as either the F-15B or F-15D

The slide molded lower fuselage features crisp landing gear bay details. The one part cast wings, and upper surface feature a detailed air brake assembly. The fuselage’s sides can be displayed with both panels open revealing the avionics bay. The kit also includes 2 complete Pratt & Whitney F100 engines in the fuselage with full intake ducts. The radome can be build in the open position revealing the APG-63 radar inside. The rudders, stabilizers, flaps, and ailerons are position-able.

It is to be noted that this kit contains the updated parts released by Great Wall Hobby, replacing inaccurate, less detailed parts in previous releases.

The kit features a complete array of weapons such as external fuel tanks, AIM-7 Sparrow, Python 3, and Python 4 air to air missiles.

4 marking options are provided in the kit for 2 USAF fighters, and 2 IAF fighters during 1982 and 2006.
