Dragon Wagon U.S. 40 Ton Tank Transporter

The Dragon Wagon was a 6×6 armored heavy tank transporter and recovery vehicle first introduced during World War 2 in Europe 1944 into the US Army service. Deemed as a substantial upgrade over lighter tank transporters, the Dragon Wagon replaced its deployed predecessor Diamond T M19 recovery vehicle. Coupled with a 40-ton M15 trailer, the Dragon Wagon was set to pull and haul heavy tanks, during battlefield combat, with its armoured driver’s cab equipped with a combined pull of 60 tons two winches.

Both armoured and unarmored driver’s cabins were deployed on various battlefields, transporting boats on land, throughout the final WW2 years with surplus Dragon Wagons carrying oversize loads such as  transformers, locomotives and heavy equipment.
