Description

The Russian BMP-2M “Berezhok” is a modernised version of the BMP-2 amphibious infantry fighting vehicle introduced in the 1980s. The new version of the BMP-2 was equipped with the new Berezhok turret, armed with  with a 30mm autocannon, PKMT 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, AGS-30 grenade launcher, and 4 Kornet-M anti tank guided missiles (ATGM). The BMP Berezhok is also fitted with new day and night sights just like the ones found on the BMP-3. Other upgrades to the vehicle include armoured side skirts, slat armour, a stronger suspension system, and an improved diesel engine coupled with a new automatic transmission.

Mainly in use with the Russian army, the BMP-2M Berezhok saw combat during the recent Russo-Ukrainian war with multiple vehicles either captured or destroyed.
