Description

The Russian BMD-4M is an airborne, amphibious infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) unveiled in 2008. One of the lightest in its class, the BMD-4M is one of the most heavily armed possessing a substantial amount of firepower in comparison to its previous counterparts. The BMD-4M was further improved with overall protection, integrated BMP-3 parts such as the more powerful and compact engine, double road wheels, and tracks while maintaining the vehicle’s ability to swim and air drop.

Designed to transport Russian Airborne Troops (VDV) while providing an increase in mobility, armament, and protection on the battlefield, the vehicle is armed with a 30 mm 2A72 coaxial autocannon, and a 7.62 mm PKT coaxial machine fitted in the Bakhcha-U turret. The 2A70 rifled cannon is capable of firing high explosive fragmentation rounds and laser-guided anti-tank missiles.

Trumpeter‘s 1/35 scale BMD-4M consists of 4 light grey plastic sprues, 2 light brown sprues for the tracks, 1 transparent for the periscopes and vision ports, a slide molded chassis and lower hull, a small PE fret, a length of copper wire for the tow cable, and a decal sheet. The kit features crisp details as can be seen on both the lower hull’s and chassis’ weld lines, engine grills, and various details. The kit provides an easy to build project with a less number of required parts while still maintaining high quality details with the one part molded main gun barrel, rear storage boxes, and the various sights on top of the turret. The individual track links are easy to clean up and are clickable. requiring no glue for assembly.

Two marking options are included for 2 Russian vehicles, one victory Parade vehicle painted in over all Russian green and another vehicle painted in a 3tone camouflage.
