Archer Artillery System FH77BW L52

The Archer artillery system, Artillerisystem 08, is a fully automated 155 mm Swedish self-propelled, high strategic, operational and mobile tactical howitzer system. Based on a modified 6×6 Volvo A30D all-terrain vehicle, the high maneuverable, air-transportable Artillerisystem 08 is capable of reaching road speeds up to 90 kilometres per hour, and traversing snow up to a depth of one meter.

Hauling 21 155 mm projectiles in its fully automatic magazine, the system provides precision strike and high sustained firepower for support and for deep firing operations up to more than 50 kilometres gun’s range. The gun is capable of delivering a continuous rate of 75 rounds per hour with an intensive fire rate of 20 rounds, a full magazine, in 2.5 minutes. The system is also capable of the multiple round simultaneous impact (MSRI), up to 6 rounds with the range of the gun more than 50 kilometres.

Manned by a crew of 3 or 4, when needed, the system is equipped with 2 large hydraulically operated rear stabilizers with a lowered selected firing position vehicle, deploying less than 30 seconds for its first counter-battery fire. The Archer system can also be safely run by a single operator in any weather with an armoured,bullet and fragmentation cabin with a mounted M151 Protector remote-controlled weapon station.
