The AAVP-7A1 RAM/RS Assault Amphibious Vehicle Personnel is the latest variant of the uparmored, fully tracked amphibious landing vehicle. Featring its same AAVP-7A1 version, the deployed AMTRAC featured the Vehicle Reliability, Availability, Maintainability/Rebuild to Standard (RAM/RS) program approved in 1997. The AAVP RAM/RS replaced the original engine and suspension parts with M2 Bradley components, in addition to tracks return rollers.
Carrying a crew of 4 in addition to 21 combat equipped Marines, the AAVP-7A1 RAM/RS w/ EAAK was deployed to land a force on hostile beaches and fronts from assault ships, along with their equipment in a single lift. The up armoured AAVP RAM/RS was the most version of the AMTRACs deployed in 2001 Iraq War, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
