Description

The 9K720 Iskander ( NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) is a mobile short-range ballistic missile system produced and deployed by the Russian Federation.

The road mobile Iskander was the second attempt to replace the Scud missile, after the Oka/Spider, which was retired from service following the INF Treaty prohibiting the use of short, medium, and intermediate surface to surface ballistic missiles.

The Iskander is capable of launching various conventional warheads, including a cluster munitions warhead, a fuel-air explosive enhanced-blast warhead, a high explosive-fragmentation warhead, bunker busting munition, and an electromagnetic pulse device for anti-radar missions. The missile can also carry nuclear warheads.

In 2006, serial production of the Iskander-M Tactical Ballistic Missile System commenced and adopted by the Russian army.

Trumpeter‘s 1/35th scale Russian 9K720 Iskander-M System (SS-26 Stone) consists of over 900+ parts. The kit includes a slide molded driver’s cabin, and missiles. The kit also features a full drive train assembly complete with an engine, transmission, differential housing and suspension units. The main tires are rubber with a realistically reproduced tread pattern. The kit also includes paint masks for the cabin’s clear parts, a PE fret, and a copper wire for replicating the tow cable.
